The Little Tennessee Watershed Association has successfully reached the finalist stage in an online program to give grants to watershed conservation initiatives. The four (of eight) finalists with the most online votes will win one of the $10,000 grants to be awarded. At last count, the LTWA was third. General Information about the Grant:
- MillerCoors and River Network, a national non-profit group, have created a grant competition for local non-profits in eight states who are dedicated to the conservation of watersheds.
- Eight finalists have been chosen and are posted on River Network's website. From February 10 to March 6, the public will be encouraged to vote for their favorite project. The four proposals with the most votes will each receive $10,000 towards the proposed project. The other four finalists will each receive $1,000.
